  13.      This software driver implements the kernel portion of the SSSSPPPPAAAANNNNSSSS ((((SSSSiiiimmmmpppplllleeee

  15.      IRIS ATM platforms which support SPANS).  SPANS is a signaling protocol
  16.      that was designed at FFFFoooorrrreeee SSSSyyyysssstttteeeemmmmssss prior to the existance of standard ATM
  17.      signaling protocols.

  19.      The mapping between IP address and virtual circuit are kept in an ATMARP
  20.      table in the kernel. The size of this table (in number of entries) is
  21.      1024 by default. If a larger table is needed, the size of the table can
  22.      be specified by the value assigned in aaaattttmmmmaaaarrrrpppp____eeeennnnttttrrrriiiieeeessss in the iiiiffff____aaaattttmmmmaaaarrrrpppp
  23.      master file in the ////vvvvaaaarrrr////ssssyyyyssssggggeeeennnn////mmmmaaaasssstttteeeerrrr....dddd directory. The size of this table
  24.      should be kept to a reasonable size because it takes up kernel memory.
  25.      The table should be large enough to hold the maximum number of concurrent
  26.      connections (remote hosts).
